is engaged in the business of selling franchises for the
operation of retail grocery stores. Acquired by Kapoor Brothers
(Jag Kapoor and Sean Kapoor) in 1994, and took the company
to the next level of expansion by adding new stores. In
2001, 11 stores were added to the Bonfare chain, taking
the number of locations to 30. Bonfare locations are spread
over in the greater San Francisco Bay area. The corporate
offices of the company are located in Hayward, California.
Kapoor Brothers also own Stop N Save, Inc., which has 12
locations in the San Francisco Bay area.
Bonfare location has 2500 – 3000 sq. ft. of retail
area, and each location carries a wide range of products
and services to meet the needs of the neighborhood communities.
Some locations also sell branded/unbranded gas and diesel.
company takes pride in its commitment to its neighborhood
communities and schools by sponsoring events, providing
computer systems to the deserving schools and kids, and
organizing other activities. Besides the contribution of
the company, Bonfare Markets Charitable Foundation holds
Annual Golf Tournament to raise funds for these programs.
